FRANKLIN Gilboa runs a nightclub called Le Hot Blu, where a neighborhood ENSEMBLE performs. VINCY, his daughter, is a singing sensation who attracts downtown customers to the uptown club.
When DOC, an aspiring jazz pianist and the boy next door, rescues VINCY from a potential rape by local Italian mobsters, a love affair begins to bloom.
Set in the 1947 bebop era, the musical is performed by a multi-cultural cast of fourteen that features six band members, three female club singers, and five character actors.
