Diversifying the Americas: the musical Le Hot Blu

Art Boundaries Unlimited Inc. is supporting the developmental phase of the musical Le Hot Blu, book music and lyrics by Ken Lauber and Anita Gonzalez. Le Hot Blu is an American Syncopated Musical set in 1947 Harlem. FRANKLIN Gilboa runs a nightclub called Le Hot Blu, where a neighborhood ENSEMBLE performs. VINCY, his daughter, is a singing sensation who attracts downtown customers to the uptown club. When DOC, an aspiring jazz pianist and the boy next door, rescues VINCY from a potential rape by local Italian mobsters, a love affair begins to bloom.

Art and Activism: The Front Lines Tour

The ReadNex Poetry Squad is a group of young musicians who are clearly dedicated to pushing the boundaries of music and social activism. Art Boundaries Unlimited Inc. is proud to support the Front Lines Tour, an artist run initiative "to reconnect the severed edges of our community." The tour features performing artists who will travel around the country for seven weeks, visiting the nation's destitute and disenfranchised neighborhoods, for a series of performances, workshops and community events to raise money for local causes.

Art Boundaries Unlimited Inc. is supporting fundraising efforts for a film project that documents the 2001 indigenous Zapatista march from Chiapas to Mexico City.

Community Outreach: Antique mirror restorations

Art Boundaries Unlimited Inc. is promoting an antique restoration project in Oaxaca Mexico. Local youth are learning the art of historical restoration and preservation. They are using their developing skills to produce and sell beautiful mirror frames that will generate funding for the restoration of a church facade in the town of Ocotlán.
