Dance becomes the organizing metaphor for “Art Connecting Spirit Through Dance (North/South)”
An exhibition series that nurtures traditional visual artists while fostering the international exchange of artists and art projects.
Two traditional artists, one from Mexico and one from North America, exhibited paintings inspired by ceremonial dance. Huichol artist Cilau Valadez and Lakota Chief Leonard Alden Crowdog Jr. are young spiritual leaders who create art in support of their respective Native Communities. The exhibition took place at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center, 107 Suffolk Street, New York.
