A presentation of excerpts from Shakespeare’s Tempest and Lewis Carroll’s Hunting of the Snark in the library of the Players Club at Gramercy Park, New York.
This performance invited the audience to revel in the language of fantastical poetry!
- The Tempest, set on an abandoned island, is “the bard’s” last play. Prospero, with his servant Ariel, weaves magic and wrecks a ship that brings star-crossed lovers to their fates.
- In The Hunting of the Snark the Bellman takes the crew on a voyage to find a monster with the Butcher the Baker and a Beaver. A Banker and a Barrister who come along for the ride have nightmares. Finally the Baker finds his fear, sees a boojum and disappears.
The Hunting of the Snark is an ongoing project of Art Boundaries Unlimited.
