ABU Spring Literary Salon: Where Voice & Dance Collide
ABU hosted an evening of celebration with e distinguished authors and the opportunity to obtain signed copies of their featured books:
Afro- Mexico: Dancing Between Myth and Reality by Anita Gonzalez, Ph.D.
*Incredible photographs from the book were be featured at this event.
- Dance descriptions and photographs of Devil Dances, Bull Dances and the Chilena Artesa – illuminate myths and realities of Black life in Mexico. Anita Gonzalez is a director, choreographer, teachers and performer. Her work has appeared on PBS national television and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Dance Theatre Workshop, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and other national and international venues.
Voice and Speech Training in the New Millennium: Conversations with Master Teachers by Nancy Saklad.
- The book is a collection of interviews with many of the greatest master voice and speech teachers. Nancy is an associate professor at the State University of New Paltz where she teaches voice and speech and acting. She vocal coaches and directs professionally and lives in Kingston, NY with her husband and their three cats.
